Philip was a really successful thriller writer, in fact they still sell well.
His daughter wanted to read one of his books... NO! she was too young, she was about 11! They really were aimed 16+

So, he wrote a story for her only, she loved it, so did his publisher when the penny dropped that it could be published and he became quite a hit with foreign rights in over 10 countries and a series that is still much loved, Sebastian Darke, he also writes the awesome Alec Devlin series and much more... His move to Edinburgh inspired him to write about the wonderful history of the city and he has won quite a few awards.
